Our Team Paul Galbraith
Qualifications: Bach of Psychology (Hons), Masters of Applied Psychology (Clin).
Professional Memberships: Member of Psychologists Registration Board of Australia, Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS)
About Paul:
Paul is a warm, compassionate, and skilled psychologist, with more than 12 years’ experience in the field. During his career in South Africa, he worked in private practice, as well as in a school-based psychologist role, and is experienced in working with both adolescents and adults with a variety of life or psychological difficulties.
Paul believes that people often come for therapy when they have become stuck in unhelpful patterns of thinking or behaving, and their usual approach to dealing with problems no longer works for them. He sees his clients as skilled and resourceful, and believes that effective therapy assists people to live life in a meaningful way, shift unhelpful patterns, and build on their own resources and strengths to overcome challenges. Paul employs solution-focussed, cognitive-behavioural, and acceptance and commitment approaches to walk with his clients towards their desired outcomes for therapy, and strongly values building a warm and caring relationship with each of his clients.
